weighed my truck :)

3720 lbs with a 1/2 tank ..and of course not mu big azz in it. It was on a state cert. scale

Not too bad, the old longhorn goes 4240 loaded with gas& driver. i guess the old truck is just a tick over 4000 lbs

I was pleasently surprised..everyone said it would weigh over 2 tons..ofcouse I did lose the 2000lb granny low 4 speed, and the equally as heavy step bumper

nice, so guestimating with the less weight.. would you say a SWB would be about 3500?

I'm wondering if my truck wil lbe light enough to be a contender in the 1/4 when its done :P

I'm hoping for 400-450hp at the flexplate

3500 + or - a few lbs...the problem isnt just the weight, its the non aerodynamically designed front end. I think with a true 450HP and a way to hook up, I think high 12s would be the number

well, I'm gonna have a 67 front end, and a bed cover.. so I think all of the severley unareodynamic areas are going to be addressed heh

I will be adding weight over stock with the bed cover and rhino linig.. maybe a custom interior and stereo system, I want it faster than a 14.. most totally stock vehicles pull a 14.. I dont want to ahve 2x their HP and not break their times

I'm with you there. Mine is a tick under 4000lbs after taking my weight out of it...

Hmm...mebbe it's that dead-sexy GMC grille.
(Along with a decently full complement of options...factory a/c, power steering, power brakes, a decent stereo...)

Of course, I still need to weigh it now that it has no spare (the "spare" was a roundish hunk of rubber with delaminating tread), no hitch (it was used ONCE), an aluminum intake and a 700R4...yeah, I'll definitely need to run it down the quarter and over the scales too. One of my dad's buddies at work has an Excel spreadsheet that does an amazingly good job at calculating SAE Net horsepower from vehicle weight and 1/4 mile trap speed.

I heard somewhere there's 1/10th of a quarter mile lost in every inch of ride height... I dunno if it's 100% correct... sounds like a warped observation that holds little value in real life or it was entirely made up... but I heard it from a reputable source...

I do know that weight makes a hell of a difference, though. Some of the Mustang/Civics guys have run high 12s/high 14s with nearly stock motors with extensive and extreme weight reduction... those kinds of improvements are comparable to a big-ass shot of nitrous!

WOW! That surpises me. I thought these things were well over 5000 lbs.

This things are light weights, my 2001 1500HD tips the scales[2 different certified ones] at close to 7000 lbs

My 4000 pounder is nothing special...small block with headers and alluminum intake, TH350, no spare, maybe 50 pounds of tools..
Sure, it does have a class 4 hitch, but that was abvout it.
And yes...I did get my porker @ss out. (SOMEONE was gonna say it)

I guess mine needs to go on a diet, when I moved to Washington I had take her down and get weighed to register it, it weighed 5300 and change. GVW is 5600, and I know its not me I wasn't even in the truck I guess it must be that Rockwell trans-case thing weighs a ton!!

I dont see how our trucks can be taht heavy..

I have a 97 mountaineer 4 door with the 5L v8 (fords are RIDICULOUSLY SLOW) and it comes in at about 4500 pounds.. it has a LOT of excess weight over my C10, even when it was assembled a/c p/s p/b p/w p/l you name it.. its powered, its hard to beleive these trucks would come to weigh more.. considering the mountaineer has real metal bumpers a steel body a full frame and a few heavy extras I added like a stainless steel grille guard (for looks, no I dont climb mountains with it :P ) and my system.. w/o that stuff its about 4300

all our trucks are are an engine a frame a cab and a bed.. how can that amass to 5000+?

At the last Truck Pull that I took mine too I weighed in at 4950 with me in the cab, so about 4700 on its own. She is a 72 LWB 4x4 with a small block (for a few more weeks only!).

thats pretty good for a long bed. wood or metal bed floor? a few years ago i weighed my short step and it was 3560 w/o me. 350, 400 trans.
i wonder how much the 700r4 and the 9" added. its gotta be at least 3600 now. i'm guessin 3650. i weighed it at the sand and gravel place so i dunno how accurate it was.

Ok , what do you think my 3/4 ton crewcab with 402ci big block,4 speed,4 wheel drive, long box, with ac will weigh????

it will be a year or two befor i can weight it.

my 94 crewcab 4x4 daully weighs 7040lb with 230lb me init.I just weighed it with a feiw rocks in it
for the yard, it weighed 11980lbs
wow! 4940lb in the box!
