Long time member - first post. Decision time

Hey all. I used to lurk here several years ago when I started hot and heavy restoring my '71. I was just putting the front end back together (EVERYTHING in front of the firewall) when I got divorced. Lost my shop, cash, and momentum. Always thought I would get back to finishing it, but never have. Have a bunch of new parts stockpiled. I have to make a decision and do SOMETHING, either continue and "finish" or sell it now. She's been a good old truck, irritates me to see it sit in the weather and slowly go downhill. I either replaced, repainted, and/or repaired every piece in the front, also did the interior. Main work left is some body and paint. Not sure whether its worth the putting more money in.

I know it's not that "rare" but I have yet to actually see another with factory buckets / console, especially with 402 and factory AC.

Thanks for letting me vent!

Welcome back! If you lived close to Rockledge Fl I'd tell you to sell it... I say finish it - you'll be glad you did it in the end...

Welcome to the board from West Tennessee. Life has a way of getting in the way of the best laid plans. It has for me many times. As for your project all you can do now is take a long hard look at what's left to do and what you will have when you finish it. Wheater it's money or self satisfaction that you did it will play a part in it. You have to decide if it's worth it to you. Good luck what ever you do.

Welcome from Houston area. I would rather fix up old trucks than golf. Fixin up anything old is not really worth the time and money. You have to love it. Your at the right place.

Re: Long time member - first post. Decision time

I am going to have to sell it one way or another...either now or after I put more time and money in to it. Kind of ironic...have to sell it so I can buy a house with a garage / shop so I can have room to fix up old toys!!

Re: Long time member - first post. Decision time

Welcome back Ryan from Western Kentucky. I use to live in Salina and worked for the Salina Fire Dept. for over 10 years and spent most of my time at station #2. Also worked at Beach Aircraft there and was one of the first ones hired when the Air base pulled out. Salina is a nice town. Again welcome to the best truck board on the net. Is Kraft Manor still there? I lived in one of the apartments there at one time. A long time ago.

Re: Long time member - first post. Decision time

Well, you never really know. They tear down places all the time and put up Super Walmarts ect. The rent at the time when we were there was only about$35.00 a month. But that was back around 1967. No tellen what it is today.
