ride quality

Hey guys, last time I was on this forum you guys gave me some great advice that helped me with my steering and I appriciate it. Since then I've made my 70 blazer 4x4 my daily driver. Its working great but my 4inch lift is starting to beat me up I don't know what kind of front springs I have but I have skyjacker in the rear and rancho 5000 shocks. Do the rancho 9000 shocks make a difference? Also any advice including longer springs and spring companies I'll take it all.

Thanks, Gene
From houston

Re: ride quality

Best ride quality out there IMO is Alcan.
They make their spring packs with multiple 'thin' leafs so they ride really good over the road.

I have a set of E-Z ride springs on my 71 and their okay but the Alcan's give a much nicer ride.

Never ran the Rancho's but if the valving is heavy, the ride WILL be very stiff.

Welcome to the board, enjoy the ride.

Re: ride quality

You can add a pic of your truck below your user name by going to USER CP near the top on the left of the page. Once in there, go to "EDIT AVITAR" in the left links menu. You can then either upload an image from your computer or link to an image on a site.

Re: ride quality

Thanks I need to do something this thing just has 3 thick springs in the front and it rides harder than my 80 silverado with 8in lift and 40's did.

Re: ride quality

I found the alcan site I'll have to check into their prices but it looks like they know what there doing. I'm going to have to get my truck weighed after I move my battery to the back but before I do that I have to build the battery box below the bed and accessible from the inside this will hopefully redistribute the weight.

Re: ride quality

Smaller and cheaper shocks sometime help. But it depends on what you want to do with it. They will flex too much and be bouncy off road. When I first lifted my truck. 20+ yrs ago when there were no kits. I had to run the stock shocks with a lift. It was pretty smooth. Once I went with the better shocks out went the teeth fillings
