Installed my Electric Fans on Saturday - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I installed my dual 12" Flex-a-Lite fans on Saturday and really like them. It was was not a difficult task and they work great.

I was surprised how little they have to run thouth (unless the a/c is on and then they run continuously). I like the sound of the engine without the flex fan whirling around.

Ya, While I was searching for fans to use in my duel fan assembly, I decided to go with flex-a-lite. For one they are a local company for me and two they seem to cool fast and are heavy duty. At least the ones that I include in my kits. The only thing that I would caution you on is if you havn't used a shroud to mount them with, then maybe you should consider one. I purchased a new 4 row radiator and installed it in my Blazer then installed the fans through the radiator with the hardware provided and after about 6 months of use the little rods that go through the radiator core rubbed holes in the radiator core. I am not sure why, they were tight, but I suspect it was the torque of the fans when they turn on. The other considerations would be better coverage of air flow through your radiator and my shrouds actually quieted the fans down. Just a thought..... WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

Thanks for the advice. I'll keep an eye on them. They are pretty quiet though.

1967, did the fan setup you ordered come made for your radiator? Or was it one of those make it fit deals?
