Question Drive shaft question

My 71 swb k10 which had a 6 inch lift had a longer custom rear driveshaft.I am putting a new 4 inch all spring lift on it and I was wondering if I should use that driveshaft or a stock one.Do the swb have a 2 piece shaft w/ a carrier bearing like the longbeds or is a stock swb k10 rear driveshaft a one piece unit?

Re: Drive shaft question

I have one complete and 2 rolling SWB trucks and they all have 1 piece rear drive shafts.
With the custom drive shaft you might bind because it is longer. Usually for stock to 4 inch lift the stock drive shaft is the deal

Re: Drive shaft question

This driveshaft extends in and out so I was wondering if it will work.I guess I need to take some measurements.

Re: Drive shaft question

Nothing is hooked up now,the t-case or axle isnt even together.I just want to know if I should rebuild this or look for a stock one to use. Here is a pic of this custom one extended and un-extended.Anyone ever seen one like this?
I think I should start looking for a stock drive shaft.
