need wood bed convertion tips

i would like to replace the tin with a wood bed, what will it take as far as cross braces,and the thickness of the wood?

You will need to replace all of the cross sills, & the front box panel. Im not sure on exact thickness of the wood,but in the range of 3/4". One of the vendors on the board should be able to set you up with the wood& hardware. good luck.....crazy AL

jfx, Like crazy longhorn says you will have to purchase all new cross sills including the rear one. You will also have to replace the front bed panel. Then you will have to buy a bed wood kit with the strips and hardware. Last but not least you will need the angle strips that are spot welded to the bedsides. This is a verry expencive propisition, somewhere in the neighborhood of about $1200.00 plus shipping when you are done buying everything you need. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

thanks for the help, we're taking the 72 c10 down to the frame adding a big block , auto trans, and dropping it down a few, we'll shoot all light blue again. wood bed should look nice
