Help finding long bolts

I am having difficulty finding long Grade 5 bolts.

I need 2 that are 7/16 x 14 thread count, 8 inches long and 2 that are 7/16 x 14 thread count, 10 inches long. Found very few places on the web that have them this long and so far they have all required big quantiy purchases.

Also need 5/8 x 11 thread count x 8 inches long - but I can get them locally.

Any suggestions?

Thanks Blue_71!

Tom, not sure, they are body mount bolts that I need in doing a small body lift. The only all thread I could find here was Grade 2 or less.

There's a local fastener manufacturer that's gone national. If you can't find it through them you'll have to have them made.

I usually

have good luck with our local John Deere dealership. I'm sure you have already gone that route and the local hardware store. I know that dofferent stores stock different bolts from time to time.

McMaster-Carr only goes up to 8" in 7/16-14.
Did you try your local 4X4 shop?

Mark, try the equip. dealers and machine shops over on West Street, one of them will have them or know who does. I'll be talking to you on the phone in the next couple days, so I'll check with a couple places down here also. Cya!

Also try Watkins-Sunflower. I've heard they are easier to deal with now that Sunflower bought the place.

Blue_71, don't want carriage bolts, just regular hex head. I did find one guy who could get me a 10" 7/16 but it was only grade 2. Was leary of using a grade 2 for the back cab area.

I called a bunch of places yesterday but will keep trying.

Thanks for everyone's input.

Wichita Fastener has 3' all thread bolts that are some type of material that is above a grade 5 in strength so I should be good to go.

Even better, just got a call from a friend who is a machinist and he has got the exact sizes I need ordered so I won't have to cut down 3' long bolt rods. Looks like I'm set!

I also needed long 7/16" carriage bolts for my aux. fuel tank. Couldn't find them in Idaho or Utah so I ended up welding all-thread to some shorter bolts. Seems to be working fine so far.

That sounds like it will work fine. The problem will be trying to get a wrench on it . Unless the radiator is out.
If you weld the nut to the square that held the original carriage bolt , mabey you wont need to get a wrench on it.
Just some thoughts......

Radiator's out. Gonna pull the front clip as I'm swapping in the 454.
