Re: Overhaulin doing a 70 chevy tonight

interesting. they moved the marker lights down several inches. i can't tell if they're flush or not in that picture, but ...

at least i know what our trucks would look like with a perfectly smooth bumper now

Re: Overhaulin doing a 70 chevy tonight

Shifty, in the episode they moved the markers down and cut two slots in the sheetmetal and mounted the deluxe markers from the back so only the trim and two lens sections were visable, at least that's what it looked like to me.

I like the smooth bumpers, some one should make those, they would sell as fast as they could make them (well, I'd buy a set!).

Re: Overhaulin doing a 70 chevy tonight

Honestly, it was just a clean mild custom. Most of it, if not all of it has been done by people on this board before. Early clip, smoothed bumper, ECE suspension. The markers relocated, and flush, reminded me of the early TA side markers, but taken to the next level. Sometimes less is more. I could do without the hamming it up on each episode, but with the truck, I think they needed to fill time. I would have liked to see ART step up for the suspension, instead of a static drop. I know ECE is tried and true, but I like Performance Online. They are local for me. They used to work for CPP, but didn't like the way customer service was going. They try and keep everything in stock all the time, and have always been quick to answer the phone, and my e-mails.

I did the same. I can't get the vid to play in WM or Divx player. What did you watch it in? I may have gotten a bad torrent file. ( I followed the isohunt link and only found 1 file for "Overhaulin-truck".)

I just watched the show!! Man it's great to see such trucks on TV, no matter what!!
I just watch it in Windows Media player. And I have one of those DVD player that can play any AVI (DIVX) or MPG file.

Consider it done Mats, one Copy for you in in the making
I'll convert it to DVD for you.

To C&C Chevy, if WM comes with an error message, find out if you have the right codec for the file to play.

If Video LAN doesn't play a video, then nothing will... http://www.videolan.org/

I watched the torrent file on it.

Re: Overhaulin doing a 70 chevy tonight

i caught this show last night at 11. honestly i was quite disapointed. the entire episode was poorly cut and i barely learned anything about the truck/ products used on it. entirely too much time was spent on the owner. granted the guy and his story about the engine was interesting but why did the producers deem it important enough to spend less time talking about the truck and the products going on it, which is what the show is soposed to be about verses the owner.
i really feel sorry for ECE and the other companys who donated there products for advertisment when they were barely mentioned. a good example is the tailgate sheetmetal. who was the maker? an even better example is the interior, which wasn't talked about at all other than the custom speaker box.

sorry for the buzz kill but i think i'd rather watch reruns of "trucks" verses this particular episode of overhaulin. at least i'd learn something.

Re: Overhaulin doing a 70 chevy tonight

OK I realize that this thread has been dead for AWHILE. But after googling and searching all over this site, all I have found is one pixelated picture, one website that apparently never had and still doesn't have the feature in it, and one link that looked promising, but is now broken. So if anyone's got a set of pics of this truck, and would be willing to post them here, or hook me up with a link, that would be awesome.

that was the long version.. heres the short-

TTT!

Good luck, I vaguely remember it, but wasn't that impressed. There was nothing ground breaking other than something or other they did with the sidemarker lights.

Re: Overhaulin doing a 70 chevy tonight

Cool. Yall are right there isnt anything very extra extravagantly special about it. Its got a good stance and such (4-6 with big rubber or 5-7? or bags?) but the wrong trim for the front clip.. And the bad air filter thing .. arent too cool IMO. I mostly wanted to get a better look at the thing since it would be an exercise in futility not to see the thing after reading all yalls posts about the few custom touches on it. I think some things, such as the marker lights, are modified- just for the sake of being modified. I'm pretty neutral about how I feel about them, but I think that opinion is what I'm gonna stick with...

Bonus things I noticed.. I kept trying to wipe the 'booger' off my screen that is near where a 'c-10' emblem would usually go... and why the eff is there a wheelchair on top of the truck in the BG??!

Re: Overhaulin doing a 70 chevy tonight

the aircleaner looks terrible the only truck that should be on is the copperhead and the sidemarkers i dont like either and where the 10 emblem would be they have something that looks goofy whatever the hell it is but all in all i guess its not a bad truck and its better than it rusting in some field somewhere or sitting behind someones house not doing anything but rotting away but im not into the shiny pretty trucks anyway they just arent practicle IMHO but anyway whatever

Re: Overhaulin doing a 70 chevy tonight

It a United States Marine Core emblem.. and the truck was perfect before they got it.. it was a 69-70 Olive shortbed, nice drop on some deep dish rallys and white letter tires

Re: Overhaulin doing a 70 chevy tonight

It looks good, but it sure isn't a huge transformation over the original like most of the rigs they do. I wouldn't them dumping some cash into mine, but my wife knows how I want it, so as long as they went with her input, I would be happy.

I liked it better before they "overhauled" it.
I wouldn't want them to do my truck unless they went by what I wanted.

I like how in that sportruck picture it's the only one (that I saw) that wasn't a plastic piece of crap. Oh yeah, that air cleaner is a fly in the ointment...

I found an application my wife had filled out for my truck a while back. But, she never sent it in because the reality is you need to live in the LA area. Still, I thought it was nice of her to think of it.
