From what I've read on this thread, the 72 bracket (just the sickle part) is a little different because the 72 alternator case was slightly larger. However, I haven't seen a 69-71 and 72 bracket side by side to tell you for sure

Yes, it is a short water pump. Passenger side bracket looks like it came off of a mid 70's Chevelle or Monte. Alternator is very close to fan shroud with this set up, but it uses a shorter belt.

I love posting pics. Here's mine on a '68 307.

Notice how close the Upper Radiator hose is to the alternator's cooling blades. It has actually "clearanced" the hose a bit, taking a small chunck out of the hose. Guess someone didn't have the right lenght belt last time it was replaced

I definately need to replace that hose and belt...

thanks for the link ...i took a look and though hard to tell from the pics on that site i believe the radius is incorrect,just like the universals.
