Question Cargo Light

I have just bought a 2004 Z71 with a flat solid lid that covers the bed. What I want to do is install a light under the cover so I can see what is in my tool box when we are at the track raceing.
I would like to connect the new light to the cargo light switch on the dash.
Does anyone know how much trouble this will be ,and the color code for the wire that I will have to splice into? Or will it be easiler to connect it to the cargo light on the back of the cab.:fb

Re: Cargo Light

use a test light and figure the hot wire to the bulb. once you do so, you can tap into it and run it where you want
