Just got a new 72 today and trying to find out what I really have.
Number on engine pad is VQ117TRJ
So far only rear end number I can find is 6033221 it's on the passenger side axle tube.
Not sure if this is right as I thought they usally had letters.

you did not locate the correct axle number, you only located the casting raised numbers ont he cast iron of the center housing, you need to physically scrape clean the pass side fornt top side of axle tube steel to find the letters code

go here ot decode the trj code: http://www.nastyz28.com/spmenu.html

its truck it should be 4, 85% chance of it
-if not 90%

if the block is 3970010 or 3970014 then its 4 bolt if its a truck block in which it is according to the stamping.
