West Coast 67

Thought I would start a build thread and post up a 'preliminary rendering' (done by Carter Hickman... the digital miracle worker) of a 67 we are working on. The most unique mod will be the front bumper... split bumper on a truck??? We'll see how it turns out! Other changes include a Dropmember, a C4 back-half, 22 inch wheels all around, LS1 and six-speed, radiused rear roof seam, chopped top and laid back A-pillar, shaved drip-rail, custom dash and console, suicide doors, smoothed cowl, custom firewall, and the front sheetmetal/hood will get some attention. Some of the mods have already been done and posted in other threads in other parts of the board. I will be combining them all into one here. Not sure when it will all be completed, we are handeling all the metal/fab work and suspension mods... then who knows! Oh, and unsure on the color... it may end up black with polished smoothies????

Rendering looks awesome. Judging by the work I have seen on other posts on this truck and others. If anyone can build a truck of this caliber you can. I look forward to checking your posts out. I will also be a loyal follower of this build thread. RJ22

Re: West Coast 67

A few more renderings... it will most likely end up Black... here's one in blue, black, and black and blue (I like the two-tone myself, but I think the wheels would need to be addressed... maybe a painted black center with polished lip?) Let me know what you guys think.

Re: West Coast 67

Here's some pics of how it sits with the 22's (265 35 22's... 29.3" tall). Pretty low? I guess it wasn't low enough... the customer requested a 1" body drop so the pinch-weld would rest on the ground. See those tires? They are already touuching the hood (on the seem where my finger is pointing)... this will have to be addressed as well.

Re: West Coast 67

Here's some pics of the body drop... removed the core support and cab mounts... drilled some holes one inch lower than the factory upper rivet holes... trimmed the mounts so they fit the frame-rails and don't hang down. I just bolted them in for now to check fit. Once everything is bolted together and fit properly, the truck will get blown apart and the mounts will be welded to the chassis. I thought it was plenty low enough earlier...

Re: West Coast 67

Since the tires are having issues with the hood clearance we decided to make some changes. (This mod is not an original idea... Grant customs has done this to a few 67-72 trucks in the past).

Re: West Coast 67

A few more... I tacked up the two edges on the fenders and will fire up the TIG welder tomorrow and make em one piece.

You can see in the previous pics where I have marked all the cuts with tape... my finger is also pointing to the lower edge of the hood where it folds over and is pinch welded... it is important to remove this edge on the hood piece and the fender piece.

I have said it before and I will say it again you make mine an probably most others mods look easy when compared to your amazing work and craftsmanship. Keep it up I'm flabergasted.

Blaze-air deseves his props too on some very fine work also.
