LOOK at this poor 68 chev

I got a call about it today so I went to look at it. It must of been rolled lightly. The front clip is good all but Drivers fender, no rust in the rest of it. Bed looks good a few dents in drivers side, pass side is perfect, but there is rust in the bed cross sills, 2 small spots in the bed. Tailgate is pretty good. If I get it bought I'll have some stuff for sale but I need some of the stuff for my 68 burb. NO shipping the big stuff. Thanks Randy

I haven't seen many trucks w/ wheel arch molding. If it is common with these trucks I guess I just haven't noticed. Which series usually carried this?

You guys that are blessed to live in an area that isn't part of the ring of rust. See, if I found that truck, there would be no quarter panels, no fenders, no good metal at all on the cab, and it'd probably be sitting 4 inches into the ground from the damn rain.

Sp, that is the only kind that came on the 67/68 trucks. All CST (except step side) came with it,a dn it could be ordered without the CST package.

Brabra- this is a rare one for these parts too! I couldn't believe it when I was walking up to it. I seen it was a 68 from a distance and kept walking and didn't see any rust, I couldn't believe it.
I'm not saying what chrome was on what truck if you say one thing you get corrected. So its better not to say anything! Thanks Randy

Big, what molding are you looking for? If you are talkin about the door molding try some out of a 90s F*rd Ranger, it fits perfect and you just need to cut it down like 4 inches. One of the doors afterwards had to be slammed to shut all the way, lol dmn thing would open around turns.

So..a little clarification,,,,,68's with chrome on body and wheel wells were CST's ( customs), if so, what other opt, might be on customs ? if so i need to update profile a little. Mine is pretty much a unoptioned truck. Un powered anything,,in the process of putting on pb,ps. it is a auto tranny though

Capitol, What was said is the chrome was on customs and a option on reg. It could be either.

CST's and customs are not the same thing for 68. As near as I have been able to figure out Custom got you the interior chrome package with chrome deflector balls if you have air conditioning, a chrome center vent with air, interior chevrolet script glove box door chrome , chrome latch button on the glove box door , a chrome bezel for the instruments and chrome bases on the ignition and cigarette lighter along with chrome knob centers. The vent wing supports were also chrome . Custom also got you custom badges on the door and padded door panels with chrome door trim. It probably also got you different hub caps but I've only seen a few with the original hub caps and they were not customs. The side trim was a different package that probably almost always was ordered with custom. CST seems to have carried all the custom stuff plus either a chrome or funky looking acrylic centered horn cap, chrome inset foot pedals and a higher grade of upholstery along with chrome visor rods . Contrary to popular opinion it didnt automatically get you bucket seats. That was an additional option which probably was ordered in most cases along with the CST option but in many cases wasnt as CST was the top of the line option and many dealers simply optioned them up for CST's to have a few on the lot. Side molding seems to have been an option in and of itself and while was most likely ordered with Custom and CST most of the time it needn't be to complete the order. The front trim on 68's as well as the tailgate trim came along with the side moding package. Just as today most vehicles shipped in those days were pre-optioned so I assume they almost always are found together but the factories were pretty good back then about letting you order whatever combination you felt like ordering if you didnt mind waiting for it.

Ok maybe my choice of "word" was wrong, im talking aobut the weather stripping. The weather stripping out of a 90s f*rd ranger fits perfect. And norm i would burn anything f*rd but its either that or water on your arm. And when it fits perfect why go buy it, its alot cheaper than buyin new sets
