Hello all

I just picked up this 71 Jimmy, from a guys on Craigslist. Super nice fellow...he may recognize the rig if he frequents the boards.

My dad and me just finished a full frame off restore of a 71 Blazer we had since about 75....every single solitary piece is painted and fixed and re-assembled. I can get this pics on here soon...left them up north.

Here is the Jimmy I just bought...this one will be my wheeling rig...but gonna fix her up nice.

Do you know what year those seats came out of? I was trying to talk myself into restoring my utility buckets and finding a way to mount 3 point belts that look good; but these just look so much more comfortable and they have the 3 point belts already attached. How much room do you have between the seats because I would also like to add a Tuffy security console in between, but I think the seats are too wide. Thanks for the pics.

No, I'm not going to get rid of the utility seats and will probably just end up using them because I really do like the looks of them. I just bought an original rear seat to go in the back and would just prefer to keep everything mounted originally without any seat bracket modifications, except for the new seatbelts in the front. I just need to see if anyone else has done a 3 point install off the roll bar or other options, and what it looks like because I heard the fiberglass top insert would not be the safest option to mount to.

Welcome from the Bluegrass State, I also own a Jimmy that currently being rebuilt. I'd like to have a set of seats like you've got in my truck, do you know what they came from?

Those seats are from a 2000 silverado. They are a far cry more comfortable for driving than the originals, with a good 3 point seat-belt intigrated. They fit perfectly with the console inbetween. Also Ive found that a 3rd row bench from a burb or tahoe will also fit in the rear (I beleive).

My immediate plans for building:

Fix all the rust in the pans and under doors....align all the sheetmetal properly and prep and paint......from a professional outfit.

After that i will finger out the interior myself.

Im thinking 2 tone copper over black....on about a 4" lift with 33x12.50's

I have the same seats in my Blazer and love them too. I also am putting the third row set in the back, they slide right in between the fender wells just like the factorys.

I'd say take the price of parts and multiply by 3 and it'll be close.
