lower control arm bushings

Can you buy just the rubber bushings in this pic? If so, would I be able to reuse my stock shaft and outer nut thingy? Also, isn't there a metal sleeve that need to be destroyed to get the stock stuff off? I think I remember seeing that in another thread I read.

thanks,
josh

Re: lower control arm bushings

I've never seen them sold separately, and not all are the same. I rebushed my ton and ended up with two different types of seal and bushing/nut.

Re: lower control arm bushings

are these bushing the same between my 69 and 73-87? Looks like you can buy just the bushing for the 73-87.

Re: lower control arm bushings

When I rebuilt the upper and lower control arms & entire front end on Lil' Red (71'), I don't think I was able to get the bushings separately. I ended up getting Moog new shafts and bushing for both upper and lower from Napa. I am rebuilding another front front end from a 71' and am at the same point again...can I just get the bushings??? I am going to be exploring this... this next coming week.

No metal sleve on my two 71's I have taken apart???

Re: lower control arm bushings

I looked and looked and it sure seems you cannot buy just the control arm bushings. Rock Auto has good prices on MOOG suspension parts....I am going this route.

Suspension : Control Arm Shaft Kit
MOOG Part # K6098 {Control Arm Shaft Kit}
Frt Susp; Upper; 2WD $38.79, For two = $77.58
MOOG Part # K6147 {Control Arm Shaft Kit}
Frt Susp; Lower; 2WD $51.79, For Two = $103.58

Suspension : Ball Joint
MOOG Part # K6117T {Ball Joint}
Frt Susp; Lower; 2WD; $24.79, For Two = $49.58
MOOG Part # K6124 {Ball Joint}
Frt Susp; Upper; 2WD $57.79, For Two = $115.58

Subtotal $346.32 + shipping

Check this page on LMC's site. It shows each individual piece.

Re: lower control arm bushings

TOO LATE, Got all new MOOG stuff on the way. The more I think about this, I am fine with swapping all the OLD arms to new MOOG stuff. But for the budget rebuild that is a nice find and tip.
