Question question about play in front end

When I grab the front wheel at 12 and 6 o'clock a wiggle the wheel I have some play...just enough to feel a knock. At 3 and 9 o'clock I have no play at all. What does this indicate? Ball joints or wheel bearing? Thanks...

I would think that wheel bearing play could be felt no matter where your hands are (actually if you can feel it that is very bad). So it could be either ball joints, or the A-Arm bushings. Lots of folks don't lube the A-Arm bushings often enough.
