I have a 71 C10 and have pulled the seat out to change out the seatbelts. The rod that connects the driver's side slider release mechanism to the passengers side mechanism is not connected to anything. I looked at the passenger side and the connection there is pretty obvious, but everything else is a little off.

I've attached some pictures to help. I also found a loose spring about 1/2" in diameter and 1.5" long floating around below the seat, but don't know if this is part of the mechanism or not.

The basic question is: How is the linkage rod supposed to connect to the driver's side mechanism?

I was cleaning out all the nooks and crannies and found the missing part. It was a flat piece of metal that was held in place by the spring.

Looks like the seat lock is backward from mine in the first pic.

This is what I have for the passenger side.

I won't guarantee it is correct but it works.
