Anyone running 235/70/15 front tires with a lowered stance?

I was wondering if anyone has a lowered truck with 235/70/15 tires on an 8" wheel on the front of their truck. I would like to see how it looks at different angles if anyone has pics.

Re: Anyone running 235/70/15 front tires with a lowered stance?

My truck is not lowered yet, but that is the size tire I'm running at the moment. They are a little too narrow for my liking. I'll be ordering some ECE springs in the next week or so, and I post pics of it then. Nonetheless, here's a few shots of it with the them. BTW, My rear tires were sunk way into the fenderwell until I put 1.5" Billet wheel spacers on it.

Re: Anyone running 235/70/15 front tires with a lowered stance?

ive got 275/50/15 up front lowered like 2" and it looks great but the rear tires needs a much wider tire to satisfy me, its same size and I love the staggered look. I'll try and get some pics up if i can find my camera!

I have never posted pix to these replies, but if I knew how I'd show you my truck with the 245-60R15's on eights, on the front. You asked for 235's, but this is as close as I can get, if you want to see 'em.

Look on the classifieds under Uncle. It's an orange GMC. It has 235/70 15 on 8" wheels.

Uncle were you talking about this one? What size are the rear tires? Also, what drop is that?

That's what I'm afraid of. I have 255/60's now, but would like to have something just a little taller to fill out the wheelwells a little better. I love the way the width of them fills from the side, but I just want it a little taller. My dad has 235/70/15 front and 255/70/15 rear on his 53, which look great on it, but I was afraid it would look too skinny on my 68.

275/60/15's measure 28" tall and 11" inches wide VS. the 255/60/15's which measure 26.8" tall and 10.2" wide. If you go with the 275's you are not going a whole lot wider, while filling up the wheelwells better. For comparison, the 235/70/15 measures 28" tall and 9" wide. I'm planning on going with 255/60's on and 275/60's the rear. 235 front and 275 rear may look pretty good also, if you want to chop it up a bit.

Re: Anyone running 235/70/15 front tires with a lowered stance?

My plan is to run 235/75-15's on a 15x7 rally up front with 265/70-15's on a 15x8 rally on the rear...
But, I have no pictures for you... But also back in the day (late 80's - early 90's) all my 67-72 got 235/75-15's all the way around, but fronts were 15x7's rears were 15x8's... I also lowered them all by cutting one coil out of the front coils, and heated the rear coils down to proper leaving stance...
Geez... that got windy, but... I guess I'm saying....
I personnally like a 235/75-15 on a 15x7 rim in the front when lowered.

OK, I'm done....

Re: Anyone running 235/70/15 front tires with a lowered stance?

Since I am leaving mine stock height....I am planning on running 295 60 15 on the rear on 10" wide rims...ans 235 70 15 on 8" wide rim on the front. Going to give it that muscle look. I found a set of Cragers that are 8 and 10. That guy wants to sell them for 100.00.

I have the 275/60 rear-255/60 front combo on 8" wheels now. I would just like to have a little more height without losing too much width. Here's what it looks like now.

Re: Anyone running 235/70/15 front tires with a lowered stance?

The 235's are no taller than your 275's. Probably your only option would be to go with a 255/70/15 if you taller than the 275's. They are 29.1" and 10.2" wide, same width as your fronts. I think it looks great and personally wouldn't change it, but its your truck, and you gotta do what makes you happy. You could drop it another inch, and the the fender gap would decrease.

Re: Anyone running 235/70/15 front tires with a lowered stance?

Interesting thread.. I've been wanting 17's on my truck but getting the 2000 to 2500 together for wheels and tires is challenging. I have set of 15 x8 rallyes and have been thinking about installing them and running 255/70R15
(29 inches tall) all the way around with a 3 1/2 Frt and 5 Rr drop figuring they should have big footprint and fill in the wheel wells right with a great stance .

Mine has a 4 1/2 " drop in front and bags in the rear. I had alot of air in that pic. Rear wheel are 8 1/2 and so are the front. I put it wrong in the first post. Rear tires are 285/70 /15.
