Anyone remember "Project Copperhead" from Trucks.....

I vaguely remember how he shaved the door handles, 'gate, and I think the sidemarkers too. And he mentioned something about someone making filler panels to weld in to cover them up. Anyone remember who makes those little filler panels, or another company that does?

Thanks,
Mitch-

Seems like there's a member who has them. I'm thinking efabman, if that is the right name, had the piece to cover the fuel tank opening and the marker light openings. I reserve the right to be wrong.

You can get what you need from Ebayer seller "Infanti72".. I bought the round plug that goes over the gas tank filler hole in the cab from him and it is excellent quality and was only 15.00. He's has lots of positive feedbacks and is in in B.C Canada..

Re: Anyone remember "Project Copperhead" from Trucks.....

I used just about every panel he makes and they all have been very nice. The gas filler patch is really perfect, but I did have to work on the firewall patches a little before they would fit. They saved me a bunch on time templating and making all the pieces and it is definately worth the $$$. Just my .02

Re: Anyone remember "Project Copperhead" from Trucks.....

Go to home depot buy some sheet steel and make them your self. All the patch panels for side marker lights gas tank doors (on the bed) and the filler neck will cost you 10.00

Re: Anyone remember "Project Copperhead" from Trucks.....

I also used Infanti's filler panels. For about $60 you can buy the panels to fill basically every hole in the truck... They are well worth the money IMO especially if you plan on paying a bodyman to make them. If you are making them yourself, you might pay an extra 40 or 50 bucks but you will save yourself a bunch of time and frustration.

I made all my panels and they aren't difficult. For me it was a question of I could take an hour, make my plates out of scrap and keep working on my truck, or I could pay someone and then sit and wait for them to come in the mail.

Everyone is going to have their own view on this. For myself, it was a lot easier to order the panels. I knew I was going to be shaving most of holes on the truck so I ordered the fillers long in advance... In fact, they were sitting around waiting for me to be ready for them. On top of that, I didn't do much of the sheet metal work because I don't have the tools (or the skill for that matter) to do it. For me, it was either pay for the panels or pay my bodyman to make them... I think I got off cheaply.

Re: Anyone remember "Project Copperhead" from Trucks.....

I just purchased several filler items from Infanti72 on Ebay. The price was good and the panels were good quality. The shipping comes from Canada so it will take a few extra days to get the items.

Re: Anyone remember "Project Copperhead" from Trucks.....

That part of the site isn't a pay-area. Thanks!! The purple is (as I suspected) HOK Passion Pearl. I've seen it several times, it seemes to look different, maybe over lighter or darker bases. I'm planning on putting it over a black sealer for a darker version...
