Q:`91 Suburban Leafs on`71 PU Frame

I`m thinking of parting my`91 3/4t 4wd Suburban and using the 4" EZ-Rides on my`71 shortbed.Without me looking,I was wondering if the new mount location would sit in a way that would set the truck up higher.I really need at least 6" with what I`m planning for my shorty.I have proper 6" EZ-Rides for the front already.Just looking for more flexy and smoother ride.I could combine with a shackle flip in the rear and get another inch in front with a zero-rate.
Do you all think I should forget this and keep the Suburban frame intact? It needs a motor and the body needs attention.I was kinda planning of finding a donor Suburban for the motor & body or pull body and build a 67/72 longbed stepside with sheetmetal I have.I have a `71 350 or another diesel (6.5),too.It has a 4L80E/NP241 combo,35" MTRs,big fuel tank/skid plates,4.10.I was getting 22mpg hiway before problems with the 6.2.....
....just ponder`n.

Well, not sure which way ye want to go... Body swaps always go wrong for me. Moving the body mounts on that frame might not be tough though. I hate doing that, too.

Are they 56" or 63" rear springs?

I've used 63" springs in the rear by swapping the shackle flip brackets left side to the right and vice versa. A four inch shackle flip will net 2" of lift this way. So you wouldn't really need the zero rate in the front to match the 6" (total) rear. I've used both ORD and DIY4x and I tend to prefer DIY's because it grabs the bottom of the frame on the first gen brackets.

BTW, I am looking for a 90-91 4L80 from a 3/4 or 1t for my "shuffling" project.
