Hey guys,
What are the two screws on the front of an edelbrock 1406 carb? Fuel/air mixture? Which one does what? Thanks

there both air/fual mix screws. Edel puts on 2 of them just to screw with you.

high and low speed inrichment screws...screw them out to richin and in to lean...starting at one..either one..i start on the right..screw out until u reach highest rpm..then turn in a 1/4 turn..then repeat with the other screw....or just go to www.edelbrock.com itys a great site, and they'll wlk u through the tunning proceedure

they are both idle mixture screws

if i remember right

you turn one clockwise until it idles rough. then turn it counter clockwise, the idle will keep increasing. when it plains off stop and do the same thing to the second screw. then repeat this process after your done turn both screws in equal amounts until the idle drops about 50 rpm.

then your set

ps dont forget to drop it off that 50 rpm or you will end up with a slight hesitation

hey...if u go to the web site...go to auto's...then to carb...then to square bore carb...then click on high lightes owners manual...then scroll down to tunning...lol,,i know its harder than actually tunning the carb...but its worth it
