65 C-60 interchange

Hey fellas, I just aquired a 65 c-60 dump with 48000 original miles on it. The body is in good shape aside from a few rust spots in the fender crevises and a slight dent in the hood. Are the fenders and hood interchangable with a 1/2 or 3/4 ton ? How about the fan box ? It belonged to my father- in- law whose health is failing and I would like to get it back in shape while he's still around

Hey Longhorn, I'm just about positive that no one makes after market fenders for a C-50 and up. You would have a better chance of finding a NOS set. There's probably a good many out there, it's just like looking for a needle in a haystack tho to find some. Of course there are always good used ones available here and there. As you probably know GMC fenders will also fit. One thing I would like to point out if you buy some sight unseen. There are 2 different kinds. Wide axel fenders and narrow axel fenders. I'm going to guess that you have the narrow axel kind. I have some NOS fender filler panels available, but they are for a wide axel truck.

My fenders arent so gone that theyre not repairable, but if I could have found new ones Id would replace them. Its going to be my first project of the year so Im trying to get everything together. It has a 12 foot flat bed on it with a dump, but Id like to replace it with a 10 foot high side gravel body. I see that youre from Moneta, Bill. Im a fan of the lake down there and spend a few weekends at the statepark throughout the year. Ive probably been by your place. Did the fire dept. ever sell that early 70's pumper? How do I tell the difference between the wide and narrow fenders? ( Dont tell me " with a tape measure"...lol) I know alot about the 67 - 72 trucks , but Im a little in left field on these earlier models. I love the truck and would think its a gold mine with a little TLC and fiberglass resin. I have a 310 JD hoe that I plan on towing behind it for " neighborhood " jobs.

I live near the lake. The next time you're around, give me a call and come on by. I have a private Salvage Yard that you can browse. I'm 4 1/2 miles from downtown Moneta. Don't recall the Fire Truck. Was it a Chevrolet? The narrow axel trucks have flared out fenders of about 3 inches and a wide axel trucks are flared out about 6 inches. I'm a big fan of the big 'ol trucks. Used to own a '62 GMC 4000 and used to drive a '62 GMC 6500.

Yeah, it was about a 72 c-60. It sat out on the main highway there in the gravel lot by that old processing plant thats been for sale. Do you sell any parts or is it just youre private " stash" ? Wouldnt happen to know where I could find a decent dump body, would ya?
