mpg???

ok so i know this is does not matter because they are trucks and they are not made for good mpg, but i am wondering what people are getting with there trucks. the reason i ask is i have a 71 4x4 that had a sm465 with a 205 in it well i was dumb and pulled that out and put in a th400 with a 203 t case. now the thing just drinks gas like it is going out of style. i also put on a set of headers but i dont think it should have dropped that much! i know i could change the gearing but what would be good to swap to? thanks for any info i am really learning alot from this forum!!!

Re: mpg???

this poll doesn't answer your question specificly... but it does note a depressing fact on the MPG of these trucks.

Re: mpg???

Im getting 10-15 depending on the day ive got a 350 .020" overboar, a pretty hot cam, some long tube headers, hei, th400, and an unknow rear end gear thinking 3.73??. The worst part about it is my cams hot enough that a gotta run my timing bumped up and gotta run good gas and with regular being 5.25 a gallon it hurts.
