Re: 1972 3dr Suburban Build Thread
You have done an outstanding job on every part of this build. You should be very proud of all your work. So what is this "One for the road" build you speak of?

Re: 1972 3dr Suburban Build Thread
Well, I'm not trying to keep a secret. It is a '71 long bed chyenne, (it is the one I bought and posted a picture of in April.) I plan on converting it into a short bed with some up grades. I've been collecting parts for over a month now, my wife's uncle does metal recycling and he's come across some really good stuff lately; a '70 GMC, a '70 Chevy tailgate and fender, stuff like that. I've just been putting the finishing touches on the Burb and getting it ready for the shows this summer. "One for the road" Will be a truck I can drive daily and will be reliable and economical. Basis is a '71 Chyenne, 4.3 Vortec engine, with overdrive auto transmition. I've got my short bed frame cleaned up and painted black all ready for the conversion. I'll start my post sometime in July.

Re: 1972 3dr Suburban Build Thread
Today was a good day bad day. I hit a local car show in Bountiful Utah. I took home an award ''Make-Out Special Award'' I don't know what that means, but I'll take that as a complement. There were a lot of nice 67-72's there. I talked to most of them and had a blast.
When I pulled up to receive my award by a local news anchor. I waited until he announced me and then aired out the bags, receiving an aww from the crowd. That was sweet. After didn't go so well. I stopped at my parents house and thats were my battery committed suicide taking my starter with it. After two hours and a trip to the parts store we were on the road headed home. Even with the problems, it was a good day.
