Vin HELP!

A friend just bought a 55 Suburban. I am trying to help him decode the VIN but the tag is wierd. Can anyone help. This is how it is laid out;

CHEVROLET
C55-207
H255K 023401

When I try to decode the badge, it tells me invalid VIN. So, what is the VIN??

Re: Vin HELP!

When i ran the vin# it says it is a 55 3100 series truck built in Kansas City Mo. Is vin tag altered? Look on drivers side front frame rail for vin number and see if it is the same number.

Vin is on drivers side door post (a pillar) and on drivers side top of frame by the steering column. Vin number that i ran started with H255k
