Seat brackets???

I am getting a seat like the one in the photos. It is a 05 Tahoe third seat. Has anyone adapted one of these to sliding brackets or am I going to be forging ahead into new territory. I'm assuming a square tubing frame made to bolt to the seat and new brackets will work.

Any suggestions???? Thanks in advance.

I am using a 2nd row Escalade seat.

I opted to do without the adjustable parts as the seat backs will both fold forward to access the back where the gas tank was and only my son and I will be driving. We are both 6' tall and the truck is small enough that someone shorter could manage the petals with a small pillow at their back.

Thanks for the response. I've got the seats and did some searching and found what I need. I came to the same conclusion, everyone that will drive the truck about the same height so fixed will do with maybe some adjustment at the back to change the angle.

On yours do the bottoms also tilt forward to access under the seat like the stock set up does? I am thinking of using a removable clevis pin at the back.

Good question. I don't know. The seat is over at the body shop until I am ready to mount it. I don't think they fold forward. I'll have to check that. In fact now that I think about it, it's a bench seat so I'm sure it doesn't.

Big Chevy that is a beautiful seat. Just when I think I know what I want I see something else. Glad I do not have to make this decision for a while! How wide is that seat? Will you be directly behind the steering wheel? Would you mind telling me what you paid for it and from whom - wrecker, ebay, friend...? Have you talked to interior people to see if it is possible to match the leather in say your door panels or ceiling insert?

Sorry for all the questions but I am pretty much sure my seat is going to be out of a Yukon, Tahoe, Escalade or my dream seat would be out of an SSR. I would'nt mind getting my hands on a whole SSR interior - but it would probably be out of my price range.

You have a 56 and this would be a perfect fit for your truck. It is a close fit for my truck. I got it off Ebay. I paid $300.00 for it and no freight as the seller was in Dallas where I live. He has a warehouse full of Yukon, Suburban, and Escalade seats. He also has Ford seats as well.

Too bad Dallas is so far away. It would probably cost as much to send them up to Montana and a drop off/pick up point I use there!

I am going to have to do some looking around up here. The auto wreckers are all linked up via internet and can do searches. I want to go look and sit in some but the 2nd row seats appear quit a bit nicer than the 3rd row.

Here is something else to look at
1995 GMC Safari SLT 3rd row seat.
Has sliders built in lap belts and seats fold I believe.

Second row seats, though better looking and sitting do not have the shoulder belts. Third row seats are not as wide and would probably fit well in the older trucks (47-1 back)
