Well here I was at a light. I was stopping so I went to down shift...noticed I couldnt get it back in gear. All I got was grinding. In the outside lane...of course. So anyways I am sitting there thinking...ok the clutch isnt out. I am grinding. So there for disc and pressure plate is still working. So I shut off the truck put it in reverse and start it up again and back into a parking lot. Shut the truck off and wait for traffic to go away. Once traffic is gone...I start it up and while its turning over its moving with the clutch on the floor. I am only 4 blocks from home. I take off and tried to shift. No such luck. I had to stop and shut the truck off again and put in in gear again and start it up. So what I am thinking is the throw out bearing went out. The GTO has to get out of the garage so I can put the truck in there and fix it.

You maybe right. But I will get pics of it tomorrow when I go out there and take out the gear box.

Re: ^%*&^$&*^#

that sucks but...

FYI the cheapest clutch I found was the kit from advanced auto for $139. Had everything you need for a full rebuild... $50 more to get the flywheel ground if needed.

This is where luck rolls in. I have 3 clutch sets in the garage on the shelf. My brother bought them when he had my stepper.
