Cool 350 or 305 ?

I'm trying to decide what mods i want to do to my engine. I'm thinking all new top end (heads, cam, intake, carb). Before I do anything though, I want to be sure its a 350. I was told it was a '73 350ci when I bought it, but I was also told it had a 350th(turned out to be a 250th - boy was I suprised - evidently the pans look the same). Anyways if anyone knows a good way to tell (from the outside) I would appreciate it. By the way I'll also be replacing the tranny - thinking a TCI streetfighter. I just want to make sure its a 350ci before i sink any money into it. Oh yea, I tried the casting numbers but was unable to find any matches.

sorry for rambling
Keep truckin!

Send me the casting number and the number stamped in front of the right head. You might need to clean them up really good before reading them. I'll try and match one up for ya!

Red face

OK here go's

there are two numbers stamped below the right head. the first one is T1230CRE. the second one is stamped in the opposite direction and it reads 10K152753 (note: the second "1" in this number might be something else or possibly a blank - it was really worn down and it was hard to tell). On the area above the oil filter the casting number was 085 (again this is an educated guess). On other engines I've seen casting numbers consiting of seven or more digits. I don't know if the other numbers on this block are worn off or if it only had three. I know this is'nt much to go on but any help is greatly appreciated!

Okay the T1230CRE means
CRE: 1970 Camaro, Chevelle, Nova 350 300hp RPO# L-47 single four barrel carb, connected to a TH350 tranny. Factory setup
T: Built in Tonawanda plant
1230: Day built December 30th
Hope this helps!

Wow
I was expecting mid 70's 150 hp econo 350. This is good news! I guess i'll keep it and redo the top end. I think the reason I can't feel any power in it is because of that piece of junk turbo 250 thats in it. I'll be replacing that to.

MJN
thank you very much for the help

Keep truckin!
