Re: Anti-theft methods???

my truck will only start in reverse..... this is kinda new since i had the trans in and out a few times last month. i might try to fix that this weekend.
but yeay that would be a theft deterrent, if they ever got it started they would run right through my garage door, that would probably wake me up. at least thats what im going to tell the cops after i accidentally ram throught the door.

Re: Anti-theft methods???

I'm trying to figure out what would be worse: Having my truck stolen or having to cart my smelly ass dog everywhere as a theft deterrent.

Re: Anti-theft methods???

Had to dig for this one (12/07). Here's what See Ten was packing in his glove box for anti-theft (don't know if this is his truck or not). That guy can take some pictures. Is it an illusion or is it real? Won't catch me trying to find out.

Re: Anti-theft methods???

With one of these solenoid type disconnects wouldn't it be pretty easy to pop the hood and jump it? I think the solenoid would have to be almost inaccessible. I think you would need multible methods, like the disconect, remote ignition switch and a LoJac for good measure, if you were in an area that is risky. That would really suck losing your truck to some scumbag after finishing a full resto.
Put a Lojac sticker on it!
Or a "Owner is armed and will hunt you down if you mess with my truck" sticker.

Nosey neighbors, and a strategically placed kill switch. Plus I have two dogs.

once my truck is done, it'll be layed out whenever i park...and you need a key to control the switch box.

Re: Anti-theft methods???

A guy I know always has a tree branch saw with deer hair and blood on it in plain sight. Nobody wants inside that vehicle. All he needs is a fake arm with a "slimjim" door opener in the hand laying next to it.

Re: Anti-theft methods???

my truck came with the two extra saddle tanks, the switch for the tanks crapped out on me, bought a new one that can be turned so no tanks could be used. theyl only have the gas left in the lines and the carb. plus a club but i really only use it in high crime areas.
