So let me get this right...Its ok for the 8 to sit in the 6 position? I am getting ready to this swap. I have everything to do it...but dont want to rip everything apart.

I've done the 230-I6 to 350-V8 swap on my 64 C10. My truck is a 3-speed manual, and I left both the engine mounts and the bellhousing side mounts in the original, I6 location. Works like a charm. Distributor is a little tight to the firewall, but no big deal.

You shouldn't have any problems other than being snug with the dist. I used a 4x4 fan shroud which fit nicely and ran fairly cool...
