Re: aftermarket door quality

I guess the point is - Good quality is hard to find. Like going to a lumber store and sifting through stacks of lumber to get what you want. If you are close to a supplier, stop in and see what they have.

I was hoping for better results, would be easier to thumb through a catalog and order shiny new sheet metal. Could end up being a hassel in the long run.

Original metal it is - where posible.

Thanks for reminding me. I have heard of the name from a lot of fellow enthusiasts. When I was hunting Ebay and Craigslist, I would contact people and they would say the same thing.

As a matter of fact, I am here(on the board) because of a referral from a guy in Florida who had a frame I was intrested in. He said "Look for UNCLE in Atlanta".

Great call - thanks again. I hope he takes CASH....

Re: aftermarket door quality

I don't know what's available states-side, but up here(in the cold cold north), I've had very good luck with a company called Gordon(taiwanese like everything else). I think they're a tad thicker, not OEM grade-but, and they're certified for fit and finish. Not a bolt on and scuff 'er down deal but very reasonable for what's out there.
