Is this why you don't use a 69-72 hood on a 67/8 truck?

Is this why you don't use a 69-72 hood on a 67/8 truck?

Looks to me like it's shut all the way and that nose looks pretty flat. Is that a 69-72 hood on that 67 clip?

I wonder if you could use a GMC top bar and fender crome to cover that up and make it look half way normal?

I think it would look good if you could fill the gap.

I'm not a fan of yellow and I agree the hood looks really stupid. Does anyone reconize the bed cover manufacture? Haven't seen one with the little lip on the end before.

Re: Is this why you don't use a 69-72 hood on a 67/8 truck?

that truck is about 10 min from my house, its been on ebay for about 3 months now. The hood does shut all the way, it looks like that cause they took pictures of the engine but never latched it shut...nice truck, but it seems his bottom price is 4200 since it hasnt moved lower than that in 3 weeks lol

The extra airflow might help the engine run cooler

Re: Is this why you don't use a 69-72 hood on a 67/8 truck?

its my understanding this is why the top bar was added on the gmc grilles after 68 because they switched hoods but kept the sloped 67-8 fenders.

Re: Is this why you don't use a 69-72 hood on a 67/8 truck?

That's a good point. It makes sense to me that you should be able to use 69-72 GMC fender/hood trim to "hide" the gap.

Re: Is this why you don't use a 69-72 hood on a 67/8 truck?

How hard is it to find a 67/68 hood?I mean, wouldn`t you buy a $400 repro before you`d fill a spray gun with paint? I never buy anything that appears the seller was in too much of a rush to get paint on.We all know paint takes minutes and bodywork takes days.

It's the wrong hood in sooo many ways. The guy should be flogged in public for inflicting such a travesty.

The 67-68 front end is a work of art that should not be tampered with.
