2000 Silverado 2500hd 4x4 stalling

Just had a wierd situation yesterday when I went to drive my truck. I got to the end of my road to pull out on the highway, and my truck just started to barely run. It eventually stalled after little to no response from the gas peddle. I drove this truck all last weekend. It sat until yesterday. I recently had the throttle body cleaned. I replaced the fuel filter today. I replaced the plugs a couple years ago. I have yet to put new wires or a new fuel pump on it.

Could it be the fuel pump? It will start, but then stall. No codes. Help! This truck has been reliable up until yesterday.

2000 burb killed the fuel pump and it was 2-300 at the dealer
all we had was a engine light on it the burb would start up but stall

Re: 2000 Silverado 2500hd 4x4 stalling

My nephew told me just yesterday he did some tests on different brands fuel pumps. It's common knowledge that most of the aftermarket pumps do not last as long as the OE ones. His tests showed the non OE pumps basically have to turn 1+1/2 turns to equal the same amount of fuel pumped by the OE pump so they are running more so they don't last as long. Makes sense I guess. Of course the aftermarket pumps don't cost as much as the Delco either.

Replaced fuel pump tonight. Fixed it. Why did GM make you replace harness end for new pump? stupid

Because over the years there have been many pumps replaced when the problem was the intank harness instead.
Glad to hear you fixed it.
