Flywheel cover on 2.5lt? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I recently bought a 85 S-15 4x4 with the 2.5liter.

I was under it this weekend changing the oil and noticed that the flywheel is exposed on side next to the oil pan. Shouldn't there be a cover or guard on this? It doesn't seem right that it would be exposed to the elements and such.

I'm not even sure what the part would be called to ask the dealer...why would I be surprised? Is this a inexpensive part?

"Back in the day" we called them "dust covers"....
