They're still out there!

I had to go to an elderly lady's house today to look at some damage to her barn door. After arriving, she advised me her husband of 60 years had passed away just over a year ago. She lead me behind the barn to inspect the door..behind this barn was a covered parking area with a bronze/white 67-72 pickup.

As I lost interest in everything else in the world, I approached this truck. I discovered a 1972 Cheyenne 10 super, 400 with auto tranny, woodgrain interior, and all the wonderful super options including dealer installed am/fm 8 track and aux fuel tank. This truck was untouched from any custom modifications. All upper and lower trim. 81k original miles. It spent most of its life with a camper shell on it, so the bed was perfect.. Its just been sitting for the last 2 years. Other than the slightly weathered appearance, this truck looks like it did the day it left the dealership.

I know what your thinking...yes, I asked her if it was for sale. She has given it to her daughter, who is coming to pick it up soon. The lady knows its worth something because so many people have tried to buy it.

It was a Kodak moment...but I didn't have a camera

The sad part is the daughter will probably use and abuse it now. It's probably just an old truck to her. I hope im wrong. (and could be)

DOOUGH!
I used to dream of the scenario where you see the add in the paper for a '62 chevy, you go to check it out coz your bored and find out it is a '62 Vette roadster in cherry condition, offer something outrageously low and the old lady "just wants the dorn thing out of her garage" .........oh well your story was sounding REAL good ....for a while!
You could make an offer to the daughter.........all she could say is no.

if you cant buy the truck atleast you could introduce her to the board if she is interested in having the truck as a good older truck instead of just an old truck.

Start looking in the "Classic/antique Autos" section in the classifieds in a few days--when I think of chick vehicles, our trucks are WAY down on that list.

Hey, if she wants to keep it and restore it...I would say she is a keeper! If she gives it to her dope smoking boyfriend, have her lobotomized...LOL!

still out here too

This will get your blood flowing.I went to look at a 69 1 ton, and right next door was a 71 SWB which I found out has been sitting there for 6/7 years, then my son was making a delivery to a place on a island and there was a 72SWB that the guy uses to go the the dump with, oh yea he bought it new, AND also my brother who drives for UPS found a 1 owner 67SWB(my dream) truck the guy uses to haul hay with from 1 barn to the next(50 ft). I have been trying to get all of the trucks with no luck yet, but who knows the worst they can say is no.
