76 C10 2wd axle/carrier question

Can I use a car carrier in my truck axle? EDB30140... I have an EDB32212 now.

Re: 76 C10 2wd axle/carrier question

I assume this is a 12 bolt in question? As far as I know car and truck carriers don't interchange.

Re: 76 C10 2wd axle/carrier question

Yep 12 bolt, I forgot to say that.. I'm trying to get rid of the 4 series carrier/4.10 gears so I can run a 3 series/3.40 gears. But would prefer the GM car carrier vs the truck carrier due to the truck version being susceptible to stress cracks in the corners of it's "windows". Truck version has a window on each side whereas the car version only has one period.
