Seat question

Hello everyone! Hope everyone is doing well.
You may recall that I purchased a 72 4 x 4 burb earlier this year from a board member. I've been slowly working on it but working 2 jobs and raising a family takes a lot of time.
Anyway, the bench seats for this burb is needing to be re-upholstered. I've priced it to making it original and it is waaay out of my price range. I can have it done with a "common" fabric/design for a lot cheaper, affordable price.
But, what about if I were to get seats from a later model burb? Something that is leather, clean, nice, etc.?
Do you think that would be better or should I stick with the original? I'm more of a traditionalist so I'm leaning towards keeping the old ones.

I am putting Dodge ram seats in my burb, I will get them re-done once everything is set up, I like the old ones too, but everyone wants arms and legs+ for hacked up stuff. Alot of the rear seat stuff is getting near impossible to find. I also like the comfort of newer seats compared to 40+ year old technology. Only bad thing is that i have to fab up all my brackets, I want it to look good, so it takes time to get it done. I put a set of 99 ram seats in my truck and it fit well and looks pretty good, only made 4 brackets to get it in. The newer ram seats require all fabbed up brackets to install, but again, its been cheap and they have nice consoles and power driver seat.

I put in a set of 40-20-40 front seats from a 04 silverado (has the integral seat belts) in 72 burb. Didn't have to fab anything, just drill a few new holes. I used some very thick, very large washers under the floors as the seats have the belts attached and in a accident the floors had better hold....
The seats are very comfortable, and the center seat folds down as an arm rest/console...

I didnt have to drill the floor, I made brackets from 6 inch long angle iron and bolted it to the seat frame and the original holes.

always stay original if possible.... thats my opinion but whatever best fits your budget and needs should steer you further...

How expensive would it be to buy seats from another vehicle and put that in?

I have just installed them but won't know how they really "feel" until spring because my Panel is in winter storage. They provided brackets that worked for me (because my cab floor is now a p/u truck floor due to rust repair) and the quality seems good. I went with the American Classic set in vinyl $745, for new manufactured seats it seemed like a deal. I couldn't find much info on here about the company before i bought but the transaction went well for me.
