Try stovebolt.com. They probably have valve lash specs along with tuneup specs. It may even be on here somewhere.

Well the dark blue is nice, I still love the color and its always a future option, but my original idea was Flat black, I have always loved flat black! I'll have pics tomorrow, worked a long day in the studio today.

Read an interesting article in a rodder magazine the other day. It was about the death of the rat rod craze. People are just passing them by now because it is a fad whose time has come and gone. Same with primered cars, just not the appeal they once had. That being said, it is your truck and you can do what pleases you. I just think the blue has more "pop" than any primered vehicle and its a color you do not see on many older trucks.

I agree it has more "pop" but, I guess when the Fad was "in" I was too poor, so I am making up for lost time. But respectfully, I try not to follow fads, seems to me its always the pompous people with no real vision that care about whats in and whats not. I would hate to think at any point in time that I did anything as huge as this for someone else.

Thats exactly my point! If I spent as much time as you have redoing that body I would be styling it with some color...although I respect your desire to have it the way it is. Besides, it will make a great base for whatever color you decide to paint it when you do.

And that is exactly the way I look at it. Other than the fact you seemed to have missed my point on the fact I like Flat black.

I always say, build it for yourself not for others, otherwise you wont enjoy it as much! But you should paint it a pretty pink with some lavender scallops!

1sik52 is just wrong about the pretty pink with some lavender scallops. Come on man, scallops are a thing of the past. I think pretty pink with some lavender racing stripes is a cleaner look. Dude, paint the truck the color YOU want and the style your into. No matter what color you paint it, you'll never make everyone happy. 1sik52 is right about building it for yourself not for others. So, stop messing around and post some pics of the new ink you splattered on her.

i think that the old style flames or scallops on an old truck like that one wouldnt look silly at all actually aspecially when its done by a skillfull person .
i would choose some other colour than lavender though

Hey guys long time no see. I have GOT to get some pics up.

I'll do that today. My friend in MO is bugging me for them anyway ^_^....

Yesterday I got the back window in and managed to break the driver side windshield.... I was pretty mad...

So I guess I'm going to order a replacement and prob pay someone to install it... The back went in with alot of elbow grease, but the glass folks down here say if they break it you buy it and 90% of them wont even touch it, I also had a fella tell me he installs glass without using the rubber seal and it made my legs weak for a second. lol.

I WILL get pics tonight.

Months later......

Sorry I have been away, My grandfather passed away in may, been taking care of a lot of family stuff.

I have however got the truck back in working order. Runs drives, stops (when its dry) and works 100% I was almost forced to sell it but was able to wiggle out of it.

I have recently been looking for a frame to pop it on and I was kinda wanting to go 4x4 with automatic trans, and go will a true paint job. Perhaps my original blue idea.

The truck brings a lot of attention, and is a ton (well 1/2 ton) fun to drive.

Here she is as she sits today.

i've seen a truck like that on a 4 wheel drive chassis a little raised and think it was about 28 or so inch big knubblies on chrome gragar steel rims under there
it was fireengine red with some woodtrim on top of the bed , and a chrome roll bar with the spare tire mounted on it it looked realy nice
think it was in a magazine back in the 80s

Yeah man not to drag a sob story but my grandfather had no life insurance, so needless to say my grandmother is in a tough position. I'm still fighting.

Believe me if I had the cash this would be on an S10 frame ASAP I would send it to a body shop to get everything re-blasted and straightened I would replace the door handles for sure... Painted and it would be my daily driver. But cash is low... Sucks to be out of fun tickets....

Maybe one day I'll be able to afford another one, I learned a lot. I love the truck. But all good things must come to an end. Watching it leave will be one of the hardest things I have done.
