This is the first one I have ever seen for sale. No, these were not factory. It was an aftermarket conversion or something of the sort.

I've seen those (at least something very similar) used on 80's Toyota trucks too, especially up in NY where I'm originally from. It was a good option after the factory bed rusted off, if your frame hadn't snapped in half yet.

They were made by a company called California Stepside. Only for small trucks in the 80s. There is a guy on some of the min truck and 4x4 boards saying he has the molds for them and is looking for interest to build them again.
