Picked up this tach cluster today

What do these go for? It was removed from a C60 w/ a 366. I dont know what year. The lights on the speedometer reads "overspeed" the tach reads "fasten seat belts". I have the pigtails. Thanks.

Are you asking in terms of price or what it will fit vehicle wise?price wise im no expert here but i would say maybe 50-75 bucks that particular cluster looks like its been sitting around for awhile.application wise since it has an amp gauge instead of a volts gauge common to later trucks i would say its from something 1974 or older but also having dealt very little with the c-40 and larger chevy trucks i could be wrong as they may have used that style gauges later in the run than the lighter duty trucks did.

That's a 73-75 only. If you plug it into something originally equipped with a volt gauge, you WILL cook wiring.

If a person were to get a cluster like this and say they have a 76 and later truck if they removed the amp gauge and replaced it with a factory volt gauge in its place would that fry the wiring and circuit board of the cluster itself and possibly the trucks wiring as well or as long as you basically made the wiriing compatible with the swap could a person put one of these type clusters in there truck.my new to me 78 has idiot lights and i dont trust those things obviously because when there going off its usually to late where as with full gauges i feel better at least being able to have readings of what is going on so i would either add the factory style gauges or save up my $$$$$$$$ and go aftermarket

Re: Picked up this tach cluster today

You'd have to swap contact pins around on the cluster AND get a new printed circuit as well as modify the wiring to a volt gauge setup. Your 78 is an electric oil gauge setup, so the easiest is to find a 78 and later unit (77 and earlier uses a mechanical oil gauge).
