Need more details. New motor? Used motor? Year of said motor?

Make sure you do your research before swapping motors in Cali. If your truck is an 86' you must buy a motor that is the same year or newer. All smog equipment must be in place. Smog referee will do a full inspection and sign it off. I highly recommend that you go to your local DMV so they can print out all the specifics of a motor swap.

This happened to a freind of mine. He swapped in a older motor into a newer truck and the smog ref wouldn't sign it off. Alot of time and money wasted. The truck been sitting for over a year now because DMV won't let him register it until he passes cali smog requirements.

I'm just trying to save you the headache. Good luck.

Yeah, let us know. There should be a date stamp on the rear of the block.
