Cool My 86 GMC is for sale!

Well, it's time to part ways with the GMC. Here is the low down. It's a half ton 2x4 with a 305 and a TH400 - with a shift kit. It also has a 4 row rad. It has a bed liner and a rear sliding window. The passenger side door is in pretty bad shape. It is the worst part of the truck. Other wise the rust is not too bad, mainly rockers. I have replaced all the gaskets on the engine except the head gaskets. I have also installed a new oil pump, and timing chain. The truck runs great and drives great. The front end is tight. It has good Goodyear ats tires, 31's. It also has a new exhaust, duals with cats, and turbos.

Ok the bad part, it's got some carbon built up on the valves, and I think the guides are getting worn. I do run 93 octain to keep it from pinging. I can get any pictures of the truck that you may want. The truck is in northern IL. I am asking $1650 obo.

It does not have ac. I am about an hour and a half from chicago. I have only driven it 3 hours each way on a trip. I would think it could make a trip to NJ, I just don't think it would be a pleasent one. It's not much of a highway truck. No power on the highway. But I do think it could make the trip, it would just be a long one though. Let me know what ya think. Jason.

I've ridden in this truck on the expressway. While it has no balls whatsoever (good old 305 ), I wouldn't hesitate to drive it home Bob....

I forgot...I got to drive it while I was up there visiting Jason. The front end is indeed tight, brakes work great, tranny shifts well....I'm sure there's other stuff I'm forgetting...

ok im looking into what kind of situation im going to be in in a week. As ya may or may not know i just got out of the hospital for major abdominal surgery ( badly inflamed gall bladder with lots of stones all the way down to the liver) If the doctor gives me good news this coming friday May 8 or 9 that i can go back to work soon I may be able to swing this. If ya have it then cool if ya dont well congrats on selling it. Im prolly just looking for a beater to drag around my boat and occasionally doin a dump run with it so the truck would fit the bill. If i can travel as far as chicago would it be possible for me to meet you there or is there a bus i can pick up there that will run me over to your area? also id need an overnight motel and access to a Motor vehicle office so i can get a temp tag to last me into NJ let me know how all this sounds, and if this looks like its going to happen after next friday,i will want to discuss the truck in more detail with ya

I am willing to work with you on travel. Also, I saw you are parting with a truck, that has good doors. You might wanna hang onto them if you end up with this truck. But if I still have this puppy, when you know if you want it or not, just let me know, I can pick you up from Chicago if need be. Just let me know. Jason.

Am I way out of the ball park on this thing? I haven't even really had any local lookers really. I was really hoping to atleast get 1400 out of it. That's about what I have in it. Any help?

I wouldn't give you a penny for it, but that's because I don't like you Truth be known, it's a reliable truck...I've ridden in it, and driven it. 1400 is a good deal for a running/driving/reliable truck....
