I know a few of you have removed the coil packs from the valve covers, where did you put them exactly? Inside the cab or on the firewall somewhere?

There is one fellow on here that put them inside the frame rails, I think it is Matthew:

not sure if you were wanting to buy a kit from someone which i think is 200-300$ or make them yourself but i see alot of people do inside of frame rails or back of motor here's a premade kit http://store.katechengines.com/coil-...n-kits-c7.aspx

Yeah that was me that relocated them into the frame rail slight back from the engine one on either side. So far it seems like they work really good. The wiring harness from the PCM didn't even need to be extended. I used 96+ Chevy truck plug wires which sort of work but could be a bit longer and better fitting. I don't think I have any pictures of the relocate I can get some tomorrow if you want.

i would like to hide mine when i do it but for a mud truck in the frame rails isn't the best spot but now im starting to like how they look on valve covers

I'm still up in the air on it. I love the look of them removed, but not sure if it's worth it on my Blazer. It isn't going to be a one-off custom show truck or anything. I'm kinda going for the "Blazer that Chevy SHOULD have built" look and I guess keeping that in mind a stock looking engine isn't the end of the world. When I started this thread I had visions of hiding them in the cab/under the dash.

My old man relocated them to the back of the motor on his 66 vette, he made some brackets that used the bellhousing bolts. You can't see them in the pic but this is what his motor looked like.

Yeah, the intake always got folks.... that was a running piece of plunder there, that car was wicked fast.

Do you have any more pictures of the coil packs? Or for that matter, the car and engine bay? I love it when people work to make things look so simple and smooth.
