Power Steeering box spacers for 68 frame

Went to put power steering box on my 68 frame and noticed ot does not have the indent in the frame so the steering box wil not sit against frame flush. It is a C10. Does anyone know where to get 1/4 inch spacers to fit betwen box and frame?

Re: Power Steeering box spacers for 68 frame

Most vendors have them. I just bought mine from GMC Pauls. I believe someone on the 60-66 board has been selling them, I saw his ad right after I had bought mine from GMC Pauls.

Edit:
here is the ad: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=332923

Re: Power Steeering box spacers for 68 frame

Are they individual spacers for each of the four bolts or is it a plate?

I believe your right about the early 68 because it is the only 68 I have seen that has the interior painted that silver color like the 67 and earlier trucks had

Spacers = washers from the hardware store. Cheap and the effective. Various sizes and a lot cheaper than going through a vendor for something you don't have to lol

gcburdic,

Can you post a picture. Is your adaptor plate have the additional bolt that goes around the frame or a plate that matches the stock holes in the frame with no addtional, longer, bolt?

Do you have an acetylene torch? Use it to heat the area and create a dimple with a ball pein hammer. Worked for me.
In my opinion, shims are crude when there is a more aesthetic option.
