Re: Heater

Mine had a heater but I took it out while working on it and have not put it back in yet. My rig came from Michigan once upon a time. I probably won't need it here in Missouri, but it's kind of neat.

What are you needing to see or know?

Re:heater

Thats funny, because my 72, 10-30 series truck service manual shows it as an auxiliary heater on page 1A-5.
Wanting to see how and where exactly it was mounted in back on the floor. Also would like to know what make and/or model the heater is.

Re: Heater

Mine was mounted just inside the third door to the left as you are looking in. I had a narrow 2nd row bench that allowed people to slip past the seat to get into the rear. It was in between the door and the passenger side rear fenderwell on the vertical surface of the truck, not the floor. Behind the side panel is some bracing, that bracing is used to also mount the heater box. The rubber hose run down and under the truck to the main heater core with an old water valve to shut it off if needed.

Re: Heater

I guess I shoulda asked quesions. I assumed you were talking about the overhead A/C... with heat.
However, I had never seen/heard of what is being described here either.

Re: Heater

I have never seen, nor have I ever heard of a rear heater for a burb.

But, I suppose one could be rigged up.
I keep flashing to the heater a buddy of mine had in his 59 GMC, since it was a after market style and looked like a little box.

I could see mounting that thing anywhere if you had the space, but I can't stop thinking about how much plumbing it would take to run off if engine coolant.
Plus, if the truck was in a cold environment - how hard it would to get the engine to operating temp, and God forbid there was a shortage of anti freeze in the water.

Just rambling out loud...

Re: Heater

I had a burb with the rear heater. The truck was purchased in Montana.

Re: Heater

Thanks
I thought it would help to clear up some confusion. Still would like to see how it was mounted and make of the heating unit and if it is still avilable.
