Title pretty much says it, will I need to do anything with my driveshafts with a 6" lift? or some will some wont?

You should at least try to shim the tranny/t-case(?) so that the pinion angle is not too much off stock. Unless you like doing u-joints every few months...

you can drop the tranny with a 2 inch block and it will be okay but it's better to lengthen the shafts

You are going to want to match your transfercase and rear axle pinion ... if you have 7 degree's down on the transfer you want 6 to 7 degree up on the rear axle ... Thats called put it in phase .
Your axle is going to kick up a little , if you have springs that flex alot you may have to play around with what works for your truck .
Trick is you can only drop your tansfercase down so far because your front CV will have issues ... its more like a balance .
Then after you have your angles figured out then you can figure out if your shaft will work or you may need to have another shaft made up .
Another option is a rear CV shaft ... If your having a shaft mad there not much more ... you leave your transfer case along and shim your rear axle to be inline with the downward slop of your new angle .

Doesn't dropping the transfer case make the angle to the front driveshaft worse? The shorter front driveshaft is more of a concern to me. I never have dropped the transfer case and never had any problems with the rear angle...or the front.
I've had to lengthen the rear shaft and the front has been fine.

The 6" lift is not that bad , depends on your transfercase basiclly ... I would assume your running a CV shaft up front , you can get away with dropping your transfer case .
Then you also have to play with your linkage .
Your going to have to trim the limit tabs on your front shaft to get a little more angle out of your stock shaft .
I have down just about every configuration ... for you I would just leave everything in place and get a new rear shaft with a CV on the end and its done .

I ran a 6 inch with the tranfar case dropped, it gave me vibration issues in 4wd that were fairly minor I did however have my rear axle shimmed(forgot that part) mine was also an 85 with a front cv factory 700r4 and 208 transfer, shim and rear driveshaft would be the smarter route for sure
