Ok, I am having a little difficulty here. I am taking the guage cluster off my 69 so that I can get to the underdash wiring a little easier. The previous owner made quite a mess of some of the wiring, and I have nothing electrical in my truck beyond the wipers.

The problem I am having is that I cannot get the knob for the lights off to get the gauge cluster off. I got the knob for the wipers, as there is a little keep screw on it. The light knob does not have that keeper screw. There is a little slot on the back of the knob that looks like there should be a tab or something holding the knob onto the shaft, but I can't get anything to work.

Any help would be great!

i think on the light switch there's a little spring on the side of it push it in and pull the knob and stem out.then you can unscrew the nut and get it off the gauge bezel

When I got mine off there was a spring loaded button on top of the light switch that you need to push down. Reach under the dash and push it down..you may also have to push the lights off and then on..mine reguired that to get it out.

ive had some where the knob had to be in the half way postion then push in the little button and it comes out.you should disconect your battery cause your lights will stay on

LOL, in my case this would be a GOOD thing. I have no lights right now, and that is why I am trying to get to the underdash wiring. I have everything hot to the fuse box, and every fuse is good except for one. The next step is tracing from the fuse box to the light switch, and then on from there.

Pull switch all the way out. Find the button it is on the opposite side of the wires. Push button in and pull on switch it should come out. To replace just push switch back in firmly.
