Re: Budget Buster 68 C10 swb fleetside

thanks guys. I have been driving the truck all this week trying to work the bugs out. Need to tune it. I have an appointment for the 30th for the dyno and with the tuner that did my Chevelle. It is running but I don't think the coverter is locking up as I am turning about 26-2700 rpm's at 60 mph and 3000+ rpm at 70 mph. I am running a 12 bolt with 373 gears and in my Chevelle I have a 9" with a 370 gear and it turns about 1900 rpm at 70 mph. Both vehicles have 4L80e tranny's. Also when I am idling, the truck feels like it is surging front to back real bad and warm starts are hard. I bleieve all of this can be fixed when we do the dyno tune. A/C is working Great! Stereo Kicks butt and the ride is nice. I will send some pictures tomorrow morning

Re: Budget Buster 68 C10 swb fleetside

Hows the exhaust sound? I'm doing a 5.3 conversion and keep hearing people talk about H pipe and X pipe. My exhaust guy recommended just running 3" pipe with magnaflows.

Re: Budget Buster 68 C10 swb fleetside

Exhaust sounds great! I have 3" with Magnaflow mufflers. There really isn't enough room to install an x pipe or even an H pipe unless you just want to weld everything together. We did my so that it can come out if needed. I wish I could have the X pipe though. I have the same 3" with Magnaflows on my Chevelle with an X and I like the sound more as it seems smoother. The truck does sound pretty damn nice though!

Re: Budget Buster 68 C10 swb fleetside

Could there be a possible sound clip or short video of the exhaust. I know its kind of a PITA but I sure would apreciate it. There is a guy here that has the X pipe (ackattack) and another with the H pipe (67C10BUB) I think they are running 2" pipe though.

Re: Budget Buster 68 C10 swb fleetside

Happy New Year to all. I finally got some interior shots of my 68. Have a look and let me hear from all of you.

Also, all you truck guys in South Florida. Next Saturday evening is the Darryl Gwynn Show at Sheenhan Pontiac in Lighthouse Point. I think it starts at 4 or maybe 5 in the eveing and goes to about 10 or so. There is always a lot of nice cars, trucks and race cars at this show, a band and food vendors. Really and nice show and I plan to debut my truck at this show! So come on guys........lets bring out the trucks!
