Its a 68, why would salvage title matter? A new car i get, but that thing has obviously been built form the ground up, which is no different from any other truck on here thats gone through a frame off, theres a lot more then 8800$ bucks invested in that truck

Re: CL a good deal??

I couldnt care less about a salvage title on a 68. A new car on the other hand is different. That thing must scoot though, 6.0L turbo? anyone ever see the hotrod mag issue where they bolted a chinese turbo on a 5.3 and made 594hp for an entire build cost of $3300?

Re: CL a good deal??

My first 72 was a salvage but I didn't care and luckily the guy who bought didn't either. On my 68 it was original black plates clear title and that was the deciding factor when I had to choose between it and another truck.

"oh ya it use e85 gasoline that means ethanol 85 octane because the motor is stock no modification in the motor just that turbo and headers,e85 so the motor wont blow up on high rpm"

uh, since when does e85 mean ethanol 85 octane? uh, 85% ethanol... I get why one would run it, same reason we set up a 900hp big block with a carb for e85, its as close to running alcohol as you get.. and compared to buying 116 sunoco it is dirt cheap....

Re: CL a good deal??

I guess I'm partial to a regular title. Then again, all of my families vehicles have all been in the family since day 1.

E85 is pretty awesome, for a racecar I'd just run methanol though. Street car, E85.

Re: CL a good deal??

I would have to see it in person and check out the title. It looks good on paper but then a Bumble bee can't fly on paper. That's a lot of work done but if it's not your style or the work is crap then you're just getting a project truck.

Re: CL a good deal??

In Georgia, they won't even issue a title on a car older than 13 years old. Salvage title means nothing to me on a truck this old.

Re: CL a good deal??

I have no clue why people freak out about a salvage title. If the vehicle is fixed correctly most people will never know that it's been wrecked. Almost all my late model vehicles are salvage that I repair myself and never have trouble selling. That's the only way I can afford to have a few nice late model vehicles at one time. Almost every one assumes when a vehicle is branded salvage that it's been wrecked so bad that it might aswell been scraped. What most don't realize is a minor fender bender on a late model vehicle with high miles can be salvaged very easily, if a new car owner has the right insurance any damage done to it and it gets totaled and replaced. Even minor hail damage can total a car easily. I'd say he put the frame was straight not trying to hide anything but to let people know so they don't just quit looking when they read salvage title. My guess on this truck is that it was involved in a minor accident in the late 80's early 90's and totaled without much damage because it was just an old truck.

the title thing, well, thats your choice, id crawl all over it looking for why it has one. my biggest concern is the guy seems alittle sketchy about wanting salvage title vehicles.

Re: CL a good deal??

If it was a scam he wouldn't mention the salvage title. My guess is he really wants two 125cc shifter carts.

I used to race carts, just like any other racing, it's like crack cocaine. I would have sold my Mom.

Re: CL a good deal??

lots of good stuff on the truck but the salvage title, kinda a red flag to me. but since it is mostly custom, then you would have to go over it with a fine tooth comb. It will never be insured in california for anything close to what it is worth.

This.

I would pass. There are a LOT of trucks here for sale now. Buy one with a clean title. It may not matter to some people, but when you go to sell the truck it will matter to most prospective buyers.
