Who has restored side trim?

My 72 cheyenne super is comming back from paint. I need to get to work on the side trim.Do you guys restore your trim or buy aftermarket? If you can restore to look as nice as the new paint needs it to? How do you strip it? Is the woodgrain you can buy good? Or will it fade or fall off in a year. I sure would like some help on this. Thanks.

Re: Who has restored side trim?

JJansen did this nice write-up on trim restoration last year.

Here's another write-up.

Have fun & take pics!

Re: Who has restored side trim?

ETsC10 thank you for your help. I am looking forward to starting on my trim. I will take pics as i go. LMC wants about 700 to replace it all. I would rather spend that inside the cab.
